Each division in a Fortune 500 company had KPIs to meet, and would report on them in executive meetings using PowerPoint. The result was inconsistency — every division presented differently, and divisions could cherry-pick or spin the numbers, making results look better than the raw data showed.
The organisation needed KPI data that was current, unaltered, and presented in a consistent format — without the overhead of manually building slides that were out of date before the meeting started.
